Thanks for th quick reply. The installer on the link you sent returns and error code. It says there is "A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine."
Went to check and I have Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0.40219 installed.
Yes, try to uninstall the newer version, and install this version. You should be able to re-install the newer version after the old version is installed.
Matt Newberg pinpointed the QtCore4.dll and QtGui4.dll as the cause of the problem. These two files were on the windows/system32 directory. Removing them from there solved the problem for Vray.
I tested out the programs I have installed on my system and found the conflicting program.
It’s a program meant to read the Portuguese National Citizen Card for document validation and signature. It’s created by some government agency.
I won’t need this program for now so I’ll try to sort this with its developers.
I tried something siple, I opened the rhino’s plugin folder, and I saw that the Vray plugin wasn’t there so I went to the chaos group’s folder, then I opened the VrayForRhino (plug-in for rhino, you se this on the details) and then open with rhino and the problem was solved
Hello, did you try to open the application for 64-bit? in my case, at first when opening the rhinoceros_5.exe the program does not show it. but when opening the rhinoceros_5 (64-bit) if it shows it. Obviously my version is more current, but I suppose it could work. Excuse me for my English, I used the google translator.
I tried everything that you tried but still V-ray is not working …
The rendering won’t start, I have the window where I can select my material but when I clik on “render” nothing happen …
I was looking for the QTCore4.dll and QtGui4.dll in the windows/system 32 but could not find them … However I found them into Rhino and solidworks program files … should I delete them ?
I Already tried to unstall and reinstall Rhino and V ray, instal all the different version of Visual C++, add the different plug in as Scarlov87 said but still Vray is not working …
If someone has an other idea which can help I would be grateful !
Hello Pascal, thank you for your reply.
I did not find the tool “system info” under help but I send you a screen shot of “about rhino”. Let me know if it’s what you were expected from …
No I don’t but since I do not have any ideas anymore, I will probably contact them. I wanted to check here if people would have an other way to solve this issue.
Do not delete the QtCore4 from those directories. There can’t be any Qtcore4.dll or QtGui4.dll on windows/system32 installed by any program on your computer, because it will override the dependecies of the programs.
I have the same problem. Uninstalled the old version, and installed the new version 5.2.2 and Rhino 6. The problem is I cannot see the v-ray render icon in the menu and it won’t start. Who can help me in this?
