Unable to load VRayForRhino.rhp plug-in error

I’ve been receiving this error for the last several weeks when opening Rhino:
Unable to load VRayForRhino.rhp plug-in: no class derived from CRhinoPlugIn in plug-in file.

I’ve been in contact with McNeel and Chaos Group and at the moment, McNeel has offered a temporary solution, which involves deleting the problematic Registry Key under (“Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers”).

Rolling back versions of Rhino 7 and Vray 5 have not resolved it and neither has clean installation of either. It is definitely something related to his computer in particular since I’m the only one in my office that has the issue and I also don’t have the issue on my home computer running the same versions of Rhino and Vray.

Anyone have any luck with a permanent solution?

System Info:
Hardware:
Dell Precision Workstation
Intel Xeon E5-1650 V3
16 GB Ram
Nvidia Quadro K2200

Software:
Windows 10.0.19044 Build 19044
Rhino Version 7 SR28
(7.28.23058.3001, 2023-02-27)
Vray 6.00.02

Your Windows build is way old and your GPU is one decade old (although It may not be the issue) I suspect the issue is related to missing or corrupt Microsoft c++ Redistributable.
try to CMD commands as administrator to make sure nothing is corrupt with your system files:

SFC /Scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

Greetings,

I have the similar issue after installing a Vray last and before-last version.

Cannot start Vray within Rhino 7 last version.
Please advise.

Thank you in advance

Hi @GThib have you tried performing a repair of Rhino 7? So not a reinstallation, but from program files click on Rhino and perform the repair option.
