I own you an answer from other thread regarding this topic! I’ve attached a video to see the problem and an image to show how it should look the solution!
In the case of unusual shoe last shape the solution is not stable. I’ve introduced a control to stop the iterations but the result of the flattening can’t be used in this case. More than that if you compare the shape of the 3D curves from the video with the shape of those from the 2D ones (from the image) you can see it will not be simple to obtain the same result. From here the need to have alternative solutions even with a manual intervention direct in Rhino!. Of course, the idea to be all automated remains! Hope I succeed to explain in an acceptable manner!
