@laurent_delrieu @jessesn Thanks

@jessesn Alternatives to the BrepJoin command if you are unable to close the surfaces.

Yes you are right, I also reminded user about it in the video. However, after using Brep Join here, the calculation time of BrepToShape will increase. If you need to adjust some previous parameter setting during the design stage, it is not recommended to use Brep Join here. Thanks.

I tried it on one of my models, it seems to work.

:+1: Good job and thanks for your sharing.

@jessesn Later I think I’ll try it on some parts of this 3D model that I’m working on in my free time, I’m curious to see if it actually behaves well in complex situations

I think you can give it try. Here are some car texture cases that we have done with ShapeMap before. Hope they will be helpful to you

oh but that’s a fantastic example :muscle:

@jessesn I must say it’s fantastic for edge milling, achieving excellent precision. Typically, when creating patterns manually, I always have to adjust the mesh edges to align with the surface edges. This saves me a lot of time during the mold design phase.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, we have some clients who are engaged in mold texture laser processing, and they also use ShapeMap to create the complex textures. Enjoy it :smiley:

@jessesn Hi, could you help me figure out the issue? I was working on this pattern with a hexagonal base structure. When I got to the point where I need to transfer from the input surface to the target one (brep to mesh), something isn’t working. I’m sharing the GH and 3DM files with you. Thanks in advance for your help.

You need to give a value to the MeshSettings option of BrepToShape,

Sorry, this is my fault, the default value to this option is empty, I need to set a default value to it :joy:

thanks :wink:

I did not find this issue and It looks fine in my side,

I think the issue came up when adjusting the values of the ‘number slider’.

Now it’s fine; apparently, it doesn’t work well with certain combinations of numbers.

Please try to use Brep Edges + Join Curves to fix this issue,

@brvdln Sorry, I found that I can fix this issue with a slightly larger value to Fineness input option of ShapeSolver. In this way, unclosed curves similar to the previous issues can be avoided.
