Using Mesh as a Beam

Hi everyone,
I’m using Gh and Karamba to study a common beam element, however, I don’t know if there is a way to define a mesh as a beam. Are there any specific components?

I want to use this method 'cause I want to define the shape and optimize it (I would like to use a solid rectangular section as the starting shape). I’m new in this,I hope to find here the answer.

Hi Laura,

there is no method to define beams using a mesh geometry, and it is not possible to analyse in solids in Karamba3D.

It may be better to use a topology optimisation tool for your studies such as Ameba - https://www.food4rhino.com/app/ameba

best,
Matthew
