Using comma as a decimal separator

Hi everyone, I have an issue with displaying the dimensions of openings in my projects. I use VisualArq, which has a command called “tag” that allows you to create custom labels for specific objects in your project. In my case, I use these tags to display the dimensions (height and width) of the openings in my projects.

However, there’s a problem with the display of decimal numbers: even though the comma is set as the decimal separator, the numbers are displayed with a period instead. I have already discussed this issue in another topic with the VisualArq support team, and it seems to be a problem with Rhinoceros. Here is the link to the discussion:

Can anyone help me?

Rhino only uses decimal dot for decimal separator, never comma.

@nathanletwory I believe there might be a misunderstanding in your response, as in the annotation style settings, specifically in the “quote” section, you can select what to use as the decimal separator.

Ah. I was talking about input. There decimal separator is always a dot.

What you show at least works just fine here:

I understand, but this setting does not apply to VisualArq tags, as I mentioned above. The VisualArq team believes it might be an issue with Rhinoceros. Take a look to the other topic that i mentioned.

Right, but the decimal separator in annotations isn’t governed by system decimal separator settings, but by style as you found yourself. If for VisualArq-created annotations there are styles then you should adapt those.

@fsalla What do you think about the response mentioned above? The guy says it’s an issue inherent to the VisualARQ tag.

Hi @Alessandro_Barbisan I wasn’t aware of that setting in the Rhino annotation styles. So I agree VisualARQ should take that into account. We will revise this behavior in VisualARQ objects using texts with decimal separators.
