Good morning, when working on a hull side which I try to extend upward Rhino crashes time after time. I just purchased 8.12 a few days ago as I heard so many good things about Rhino 3d software and was advised to upgrade to 8.13 which would solve the problem. Any advice towards a solution or what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

hi @Michael_Ferry ,
thanks for reporting. And sorry to hear that you are running into these issues as a first experience.
I can confirm that this surface doesn’t behave very well with ExtendSrf.
RH-84459 ExtendSrf: locks up Rhino
As a workaround, you could Untrim the surface first, then extend, if that helps.
This is most likely due to the mesh setting being too coarse.
Try:
Alternatively, you can trim the surface one side at a time, RefitTrim and get to the attached resulting surface, which can be extended without issues.

thanks Gijs, that works! Lots of things to learn but what a blast to draw in 3D vs years in 2D
RH-84459 is fixed in Rhino 8 Service Release 15 Release Candidate
GREAT! thanks.
