UI discussions forum subcategory

Can we have new subcategory on the forum where all the UI discussion topics will be moved? Right now all those “philosophical” UI topics are scattered all over the forum and I think it would be a good idea to keep them in one place.

Thanks @ajarindia for adding UI tag to my post I almost always use them, but for this purpose, we need something more than just a tag. :stuck_out_tongue:

@Czaja
For this purpose, we need McNeel team ( @wim @brian ) members attention more than just my reply. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
P.S: Because they can only create. (Leaders) Groups,categories,subcategories etc.

I’m kindly asking again. A few days ago I was looking for something UI-related and couldn’t find the right topic on the forum. Maybe it wasn’t a good enough idea 4 years ago, but now, given what is happening with the Rhino interfaces it looks very reasonable.

Maybe the problem is that Rhino for Windows and Rhino for Mac are already subcategories and there is no room for another layer of subcategories?

  • Take Rhino for Windows and Rhino for Mac from the Rhino category and move them to the top level.

  • Windows hardware and Mac hardware, Mac tutorials subcategories to the RH Win and RH Mac categories

  • I don’t know what to do with the rest, universal subcategories SubD, AI and PaperCuts. Maybe Rhino (general) category or something like that - I’ll leave it for the native English speakers.

Another option (if possible) is more granular division - 2nd level of subcategories, but that is a more drastic change.

Generally, I agree. I don’t know if we need separate UI categories for the Windows and Mac or one would be enough. Both UIs are going to be more similar than in the past. Topic tags are not sufficient.

Forum is more busy than it was, and a lot of changes are going on, sometimes it’s hard to follow.
