Turning physical model into digital model in rhino

Hi,

I made this physical sketch model and I’ve modelled most of it in Rhino but I’m experiencing issues making the rivers. I used the command “Split” to create them but I’m not sure if it worked. There are no gaps between the contours and there is nothing showing up in rendered mode as well.

When you turn off the “CAD” layer, your model looks like this:
