Transfer V8 macOS settings to V8 Windows users

I have 25 V8 Windows users to whom I want to transfer my V8 macOS settings (toolbar “containers”, panel “containers”, Display Modes, and overall UI layout. How do I do this?

OptionsExport OptionsImport i assume, that may only work between macs though i did not test it between platforms but give it a try.

That’s not working.

for Rhino 8, see this guide:

but, is it a bug or why this complicated work around now?

OptionsExport/Import dumps out a specific plist/.ini on win/mac which doesn’t work cross platform. Rhino saves (almost) all of its settings in the settings folder the guide above mentions and is the preferred method of transferring. And in 9 this will be a nice easy solution.

Thanks, but that ain’t working for transfer from V8 macOS to V8 Windows. Could you list in bullet points what’s to be done to get it right?

What doesn’t work @Lagom, are you missing aliases, shortcuts, window layouts? When you followed the steps all your Rhino instances were closed?

I went to Library > Application Support > McNeel > Rhinoceros > 8.0 and attached the macOS settings folder to an email. However, the Windows users have no %APPDATA%\McNeel\Rhinoceros\8.0\ folder to paste the settings folder into. Maybe the corporate central device-management, quite common these days, is at play? Often, programs are run via AppsAnywhere.

The users open Rhino 8 on windows and that folder still doesn’t exist at all?

I check again tomorrow what they see or not.
