I believe you can bookmark topics - they then will appear in your bookmarks section on the forum.

yes I already do this, what I would have liked is to always put some topics at the top.
for example, the topic of the new SR Rhino.
pinning so far only works globally for admins. i made a quick dive into this idea, it seems this wish came up on the initial developer’s discourse site, at least twice but with zero response from developers or non that i could see, though people there claiming that this wish popped up several times which makes sense.
still if you want to state a wish to improve discourse you would have to try to engage with developers there. once this feature is implemented, the admins from mcneel would probably have to update and decide whether this is something they like. i believe they can decide which functions to enable.
there are still some features like using coloured text that are not enabled and maybe will never.
