Tekla Rebar Set Problem

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with replicating the insertion of a rebar set using Grasshopper. In the video, I demonstrated step-by-step how to add crossing reinforcement to my strip footing in Tekla Structures. First, I select the surfaces and then the guideline. Everything appears to be fine with the reinforcement in this workflow, and the covers are applied correctly.

However, when I attempt to replicate the same workflow in Grasshopper using the Rebar Set component, I encounter problems. I select the same faces and the same guideline, but something goes wrong. On one side of the part, an additional rebar appears outside the part, while on the other side, one rebar is shorter. Additionally, the covers are not applied in this workflow.

I successfully managed to create longitudinal and crossing bottom reinforcement, but in that case, there was only one surface—the bottom of the strip footing.

Hi Aleksander,

I tried your example and it works just fine for me, I’m using Tekla-GH link 1.19. You might also want to set the attributes for the guidelines, set and surface just to make sure there’s no “junk” in your default settings.

Only other thing that’s different is that I connected the Tekla Surface straight into the Rebar Set component.

Hope this helps!

Thank you, @Oskar_Scherdin, for looking into my case.

For now, I found a workaround using the Extend Curve component. I shortened my guideline curve by 1mm on both sides, and it worked. Perhaps there is an issue with my geometry.

I fully reinforced this part with other rebar shapes and encountered the same problem, which I managed to solve by shortening the guideline.
