Surface morph onto sphere

Hey folks!

I’m trying to morph a pattern on a plane onto a spherical dome. But when I use surface morph, I get crazy result (just trying out the bounding box of my geometry), especially at the border and naked edge of the dome. Could you help me please?

I tried to help the module out by making my starting surface a revolved surface as well, but that doesn’t work.

Thanks a ton!

I think it might be relevant to point out that UVs should flow like this for a sphere:

so if you sporph something as easy as a straight curve, I think it will look something like this:

Thanks for your help R-d! This is a great tool but because it’s directional, the shapes don’t follow the target surface’s curvature.

Thanks for your help inno! I try to get around this by having my starting surface (the planar circle) be a revolved surface, so that (and my hopes being that) the blue line you show would cut across the dome (as if intersecting it with a rotated YZ plane) instead of wrapping around it
