Sun Panel and Material Panel

Hi, I’m having trouble utilizing Sun Toggle and Material Toggle in my Rhino 7, student version. I tried updating the graphic card, and reinstalling Rhino 7 but none of them worked.

I can open the Sun Panel by clicking on the Tools Tab → Options → Render → Sun Settings.
I can edit the sun direction and the shadow casts through it, but all the effects disappear after closing the tab… How can I fix this?

For Materials, I can open the tab but I can’t customize the materials. How do I fix this as well?

Hello- can you please run -SystemInfo in Rhino and copy/paste the resaulyt here?

Hi Shoon - if you make Rhino the current renderer, do you see the correct UI? (Render menu > Current renderer)

-Pascal

No, I don’t. I see

  • Rhino Render
  • Legacy Rhino Render

What’s UI?

Hi Shoon - UI = “User Interface”
If you disable Enscape in Options > Plugins page, then close and re-open Rhino, do you see the correct things in the panels?

-Pascal

I followed the steps, but I’m still having trouble opening the Sun Panel and customizing materials in Material Panel

Hi Shoon - in Options > Plugins page, are these plug-ins showing and enabled"

-Pascal

The Renderer Development Kit UI wasn’t enable so I enabled it. The panels are working now. Thank you so much!
