Subd- Any way to turn off backface selection

is there any way to turn off selection of behind vertices for subd work

maybe not many people used subd so this function may not be present.
Another way is to allow only selection of front faces by default and when the user want to select back faces also then this feature like- Ghost-select/Xray-select can be considered-

Are you aware of the command '_SubDFaceEdgeVertexToggle ?

It let’s you select a face and then change the selection to edges or vertices…

The _SelBrush and _SelRectangular commands have an option for that: _SelectThroughObjects=_No. Combined with selection filters that should let you select exactly what you want.

why does someone want to do another command just for selection each time, it should be the default behaviour in subd to select only front faces as subd often have large number of faces. and with _SelRectangular command he can do backface selection if needed. anyway everybody have choices.

@martinsiegrist I was not aware of _SubDFaceEdgeVertexToggle so thankyou.

I do prefer the way that tSplines worked however. In tSplines if I had a face selected and changed to vertex selection mode it would change the face already selected to the face vertices being selected.

Same thing but using the alias I already used to toggle selection modes was simpler to change the selection mode for an already selected object IMO…you also went straight to the mode you wanted.
