Does anyone have a good studio scene setup for Rhino Render they are willing to share? I need to make quick renderings of furniture and am not happy with the scene I am getting. Granted, I am not very good at any rendering softwares so the learning curve is steep. Thanks!!
What are you looking for? Is it standard “white studio” stuff, or something more atmospheric? Do you have an example piece of furniture to share?
It’s basically just a white studio. I just need to get a sense of the piece. I don’t even bother mapping the material properly. Although I am trying to get better at that. I def need to create a better wood material at some point.
sometimes I use metals in which case I need to add a floor and other objects in order to the reflective surface not to disappear.
Render Template.3dm (8.5 MB)
Here is a simple scene setup for you to play with.
STUDIO_HOLO.3dm (2.9 MB)
Rhino 7, uses Intel Denoiser if you have it installed.
Rhino Render stops at 150 passes by default in this scene. Rais if needed.
The materials included uses WCS so you don’t need mapping.
Objects made with Sub-D.
Have fun!
Thank you! I’ll see how it works in Rhino Render 8
Here is a Rhino 8 file.
I had to set the environment to “Set for all environment channels”, if not it would over expose.
(Nudge on the exposure wish @nathan, that is long over due… )
STUDIO_HOLO_Rhino8.3dm (3.1 MB)
I don’t see that here with just 360 env set, no custom overrides
and side-by-side the v8 (left) and v7 (right) files in rhino 8
I always have “White” as default custom color for Rendered display mode, so this overrides that setting. I presume you use “use rendersettings”.
I don’t understand. What custom color, and why Rendered display mode? The latter has nothing to do with Raytraced?
Display background color. I’ll check more tomorrow. Maybe I have that sat to white on Raytraced too by mistake.
