Structural analysis

I’ve been using Kangaroo to get a rough idea of how my structure will behave. But if I want to construct it and determine the thickness of the elements made from a particular material what would be the next step? Would I use FEA software like Karamba3d or standalone software? Does Karamba3d cover similar structural systems to Kangaroo? Has anybody had success using K2Engineering?

Hi Mark,
If you have been using Kangaroo to understand the structural behaviour then I imagine you are working with cablenets, membranes and/or gridshells? In other words structures with large deformations?
If that is the case then K2Engineering is a good choice as it is an extension of Kangaroo to make it easy to go from form-finding to analysis and extract/visualise forces, reactions and displacements. There is a folder with example files on the Github page you linked to.

I’ve been working with hybrid systems - active bending rods and membranes.

I’ll look into your plugin a bit more :slightly_smiling_face:
