Straighten UV Borders


I unwrapped bicycle rim and need some help! I need straight UV-borders so I can map a structure correct (similar to a checkerboard) on it. Do you have any suggestions!


Hi Chris - it seems like you’re maybe looking for Flow or FlowAlongSrf to get a pattern from straight/ortho to the curved surface - look into those commands first, I tihnk…


I would suggest to use cylindrical mapping, or your rim is not round ?

This should give pretty good result.

Another thing is to create custom shape and use it as mapping.
Tee custom shape can be anything - but if you create rail and guide surface that properly surrounds your rim - then you’re at base :slight_smile:
