Start using textures in GH

Hi everyone,
I’m just starting out in Grasshopper and I need help to apply texture to a model, it’s for a piece of furniture. I am using the ShapeDiver plugin but when I change the length or width of the model the texture goes crazy.
I also wanted to ask if you think the model will look more fluid if the texture is imported from a bitmap on my computer or if I upload the image to the internet and put the link.

Could you tell me if the way I put the texture is correct?
I would also like to know if I can make the edges look a little more marked, since there are finishes with which the passage from one piece to another is not appreciated.

Thank you all

Use a box to control the texture size instead of the brep for more predictable mapping.

Textures usually load quite fast also from external locations but that also depends on service where you store the images and your internet connection. This is more flexible solution as you can swap textures easily but if you don’t need to update them you can internalise them in the definition, just keep the size around 1MB for the best performance.

Thank you Pavol, I´ll try to do that way.

Can I use textures uploaded to Google Drive, Dropbox or similar?

The links above should help with using Dropbox. Here’s how it can be done:

The above is another forum post on this topic.

I hope that helps!

Thank you praneet! I´ve tried uploading to Dropbox instead Google Drive and it works.
