SR3 daily bug - NamedViews not recognized

(6.3.18044.2031, 2018-02-13)

@dale, please tell me this is not by design…

When calling NamedViews by their name, the command line echoes Unknown command.

This is like cutting off both my arms - if that is on purpose, you might as well take my head…

Ref.: RH-44161

What’s more, we only made it work that way on your machine to tick you off.

I’m on it.

OK _ I’m able to repeat the word “Command” being repeated the the command line, but it appears to be a cosmetic issue. The command still executes, and the view is saved.

I assume that’s not what you are seeing.

That’s correct, that’s not what I’m seeing. Thanks for looking - and for keeping on looking .ø)

Is this something new that’s happening in 6.3?

I find it a bit hard lately to keep track of which SR I’m running. Sometimes there are 2 updates a day. I didn’t use Rhino yesterday but I’m rather sure it was working on Monday.

@wim

It sounds like you need to get off the dailies - you shouldn’t really have a 6.3 yet. That’s WIP grade.

Hi @wim,

Just to confirm your work flow: from within the NamedViews panel you save a named view called ‘v1’. You then mess with the view. Then you enter ‘v1’ from the command line and you get “unknown command”.

Is this correct?

– Dale

Hi @dale,
That’s correct, yes. My template file includes 2 named views (v0 and v1) - Rhino 6 and Rhino 7 WIP open up with this same custom template. In the WIP (RH7, that is), entering ‘v0’ and ‘v1’ will update the view (as does RH5 and did RH6 up until last week) - in the current RH6 RC3 WIP, this echoes “unknow command”.

Thanks, we’re going to shove the fix for this in SR2.
