Soul Amulet

This was a test of the new blocks support in Grasshopper V8, as well a workflow test which included Adobe Illustrator (since Affinity can’t trace scans yet) and SVG files, Unreal (datasmith for conversion since Rhino’s mesh based exports are quite poor) and STEP files and finally Blender (for modification of subdivision surfaces using modifiers and procerudal materials).

The stone was extruded from imported SVG curves, quad remeshed into subdiv, brought into Blender to apply a deform modifier using noise, brought back into Rhino to have the symbols projected onto it using Grasshopper, and finally moved to Blender again to animate and render.

Grasshopper did its job and worked quite well (but I must admit it’s still very difficult for me to grasp and I must basically ask questions every step of the way).

I would buy a jewelry piece such as this one.
