Soft Transform on SubD with Fixed Edges option?

I was not able to find this option, it would be really useful to have it.

Any alternative method to edit SubDs in a big way (not vertex by vertex) without affecting edges?

Thanks

You can lock subobjects that you do not want to be affected by the SoftTransform command (and by SubD edit points deformations).

For fixing a SubD boundary, hold control+shift (sub-object selection), double-click a boundary edge (SubD edge chain selection, in many cases it will select all the boundary edges of the SubD), and run Lock. Editing the SubD under SoftTransform option should not change the vertices on the boundary anymore.

Hi Pierre. Thanks for the tip. Just had a chance to try this but I am must be doing something wrong because edges are still moving. Is this working on Rhino 7?

Sorry, I hadn’t checked but it appears to be in Rhino 8 only:
