SoftTransform

Running Version 7 SR32 (7.32.23221.10241, 2023-08-09)

SoftTransform is turned on for SubD surfaces even when Enabled is false. Switching it on and off doesn’t result in any behavior change. This is extremely frustrating when using subD surfaces for ship hulls. Other vertices must stay where I put them! Is there another setting I’m missing? How do I get this working?

I also tried locking the adjacent subD vertices and isocurves. This keeps them from being selected but DOESN’T keep them from moving when adjacent vertices are moved.

Hello - turn on EditPoints (EditPtOn) and lock those. You’ll see that the subd beyond the locked points will be changed even though the point does not move.

This has nothing to do with SoftTransform.

Although cumbersome, using EditPtOn & Lock seems to work. But that doesn’t address why disabling SoftTransform doesn’t seem to do anything at all.

Hello- this is not related to SoftTransform in any way. It is how SubD objects behave.
