Hi, I’m trying to make a thin tube glow in the sky, like and LED, (think a tiny searchlight) so pretty transparent and kind of blur. Is this possible? I’ve searched tools and YouTube.
Thank you,
Bill
f you could post an example of what you are talking about, right now it sounds like a neon sign the glows a bit, but the tiny searchlight analogy sounds a bit confusing
Great suggestion. I can do it in photoshop easily, but want the “ray” (an emissive tube) to fade to nothing. here are before and after. The ray is to replicate LEDs. Does this help?
Thank you!
Hi there.
Here is an example where I have used colour gradients in the opacity channel to fade out emissives. There are a series of nested cylinders to improve the effects. Take a look at the planar mapping widgets on the purple sabre. You can see I have offset them to stop gradient repeating.
The texture “SabreA” and the mapping widget should be enough to guide you to a usable item.
Hope it may help.

Thank you David! This is the perfect solution. I appreciate the help!
