_SmoothMesh

We have the good working _ReduceMesh.
It would be handy if we also had _SmoothMesh.
Like Laplacian Smooth in Meshlab.

Hi @Charles

Old, but still valid and overall excellent plugin.
https://www.giuliopiacentino.com/weaverbird/

I dream of a built-in command in Rhino…
…something easy to access and use OOB.

I understand that there are many ways to smooth a mesh. What is not good in Smooth command ?
https://docs.mcneel.com/rhino/7/help/en-us/index.htm#commands/smooth.htm?Highlight=smooth

From my test there is no difference between Weavbird Laplacian Smooth with these parameters and Rhino !!!

use a command called Smooth

Blush…

I didn’t think of sub selecting parts of a mesh and smooth only them.
Means nothing is wrong with _Smooth.

Combining selbrush with Smooth can be a powerful tool as well

… try _SubDivide and then _Smooth

I’ve been playing a little with RealityScan in the last couple of weeks, and as impressive as the results are, there’s more often than not a few spikes or indents in the resulting mesh. Selbrush with subobject selection filter set to faces and then smooth is a magnificent tool for cleaning up irregularities in seconds!

I’d love to see an interactive smoothing brush one-day … Hopefully one day.

Yes, a smoothing brush that works for nurbs control points too.
Then make it pressure sensitive for pen input…

Yes! This one  I’d love to see progress on this one. Thank you for your work.

The plug-in should be ready for an alpha release in January. Stay tuned!
