You need to build your chair with multiple surfaces, and before that determine a suitable patch layout based on your mock-ups and/or sketches. See this to get an idea.
its for 3d printing
I see; after having made the surface model, you can project lines from the side, at the desired equal distance, and run pipes of equal thickness along. A tad laborious, but that’ll give you that ribbed look.
This could be done with a sweep

PS: orient symmetrical geometry on the origin for easier modeling…
I think you have too many sections.
Can you post your file?
Cage edit or SubD would be other options to start with a standardized shape and morph it into the actual chair.

i only worked on the half of the chair , only 3 sections
I also get the bumps. My patience with sweep is relatively low. I’d do this in SubD instead.
No, the only reason it looks goodd on this one is because the first and secon profile are the same.
The position of the sections matters. In my example the sections are where the ends of the rail segments.
oh okay i get it know , thank you so much!

looks like a molested ibeam.
though i made something similar some time ago just for fun, but i am certainly too shy to upload it to disco, not that yours looks bad but it well reminded me of an ibeam
