Douglasjohnmiller, Does this happen in a new file? In a Raytraced viewport i turn the Skylight off, switch to shaded and it gets checked back on? I’m not seeing it in a simple example, is there a step i’m missing?

Yeah, I just tested it with a cube on a simple plane in a brand new file my end. Annoyingly the box doesnt actually get checked back on at all during this process for me, but the skylight is back on when I return to raytrace display mode.
