Skylight ignores on/ off check box after switching between Display modes

Whilst using Raytrace viewport to set up lighting, Im having to manually turn off the Skylight everytime I change from ‘Shaded view’ to ‘Raytrace view’.

As soon as I switch back to shaded to make edits it seems to reset the lighting optons ignoring what I had previously set up. In order to get it to register the skylight as ‘off’ I have to toggle the option on and off again. Minor but pretty annoying when doing it many many times over throughout the day.

Any fix for this or others running into the same problem?

Douglasjohnmiller, Does this happen in a new file?

In a Raytraced viewport i turn the Skylight off, switch to shaded and it gets checked back on? I’m not seeing it in a simple example, is there a step i’m missing?

Yeah, I just tested it with a cube on a simple plane in a brand new file my end. Annoyingly the box doesnt actually get checked back on at all during this process for me, but the skylight is back on when I return to raytrace display mode.

So currently what Im doing is:

Switch to Raytrace - check mark ‘Skylight off’ - Switch to Shaded - Switch back to Raytrace - Skylight is clearly rendering as ON but is checked as OFF.

(work around I’ve found for now whilst im working is to simply set the skylight environment intensity to 0, so even when the pesky skylight is on without me checking the box it has no effect on the scene)

Issue logged as RH-69072 Skylight doesn’t properly turn off

RH-69072 is fixed in Rhino 7 Service Release 20
