Simple 2D Problem

I want to move the selected circle down until it hits the curve on the right and also stays tangent to the vertical line on the left . The circle diameter has to be held, and the 2 lines have to be held.

This type of stuff makes me go to the cookie jar and eat a pile of shortbread cookies, but still remains a problem.

Thanks ahead!

Circle tan tan tan would be easier than moving / scaling the circle

Or if the circle has to stay the same size, use Circle, Tangent, pick the vertical curve as the first curve, the right curve as the second, and then input the radius of the circle.

The circle is a cutting tool diameter - has to be fixed. I will edit the post.

Ok got it…

If you want to move it, offset the two tangent curves and find the intersection?

I tried that, but it changed the circle to an ellipse. I’ll upload a file.

Did you use the gumball?

I am uploading the file, but noticed after hitting F10 to see the points, neither object is a circle or arc - does it have to be???

Ahh, I think I see why it’s making it an ellipse. Your curves aren’t planar, so it’s making a circle that’s tangent between a curve on one plane and a curve on another. Is that intentional?

The circle has to be fixed diameter but is moveable, and the 2 curves have to stay put.

Oops, Thanks!! I probably used the curve from the 3D model.

I’ll project a copy to the XY plane!

Move the entire circle. Don’t scale it and don’t press F10…

Thanks, I understand. I was not analytical enough and only had top viewport open, another vote for 4 viewport !
