These are joined as a polysurface and meshed with these options

Hello - you might get away with
AlignMeshVertices if you join the meshes into 1 and specify a large enough distance.

Hmm. not easily in V6 that I know of - that is, not without introducing triangles. In the V7 WIP there is InsertEdge that can get things lined up better with quads.
Introducing triangles isn’t a problem - how would you do it with tris?
