Any chance we can get the Set View menu in the viewport’s upper left RMB dropdown? Makes sense to have it there. thanks-
d
It’s on the way (MR-924).
Great thanks!
just a little headsup about that part… the right-click context menu isn’t necessarily tied to the viewport’s title in the upper-left…
if you don’t have anything selected, the context menu will appear no matter where you right-click in the viewport… (as in- you don’t have to go to the upper-left to get at those options)… however, if you do have something selected, the right-click menu will be options related to your selection.
It’s crazy how I keep going there, making sure to hit the tiny tiny target…even though I know exactly how it works. Old habit, I guess. I just need to get in the habit of telling other people exactly what you just conveyed.
it used to be that the viewport title did nothing… somewhere along the way the viewport title did gain additional context menu capabilities… that being:
• select something in the viewport then right click in the view-- you’ll get the object’s context menu
• deselect all and right-click – you’ll get the view menu (or viewport context… however it should be thought of)
but then-
• select something in the viewport and right-click on the viewport title and you’ll get the view menu again in this case.
so, there is some use of rightclicking the viewport title in certain circumstances… how you mcneel_ers decide to convey this info to users seems like a not-so-incredibly simple task …or it could be confusing/dauting/(and maybe even irrelevant) to brand new users.
