Section 3: GUI, ICon

UI Theme:

    1. Pick several exotic colors at (https://color.adobe.com/) using the eyedropper in Rhino.
    1. Select 3-4 color combinations, excluding the dark mode, to be shipped with the Rhino release.
    1. Command Color Customization on: Command type text (existing), sub-command (capital) _Curve _*Degree (‘D’ has a color)

Icon Design:

  • Color: Find a universal color(s) that fit the UI theme.

  • Graphics: If want to refresh, find a graphic designer at the freelancer’s market.

Unless new icons are created, it is a waste of time to concentrate on icon colors that fit the user interface. It’s like putting an LV purse on a girl who lacks quality.

Update:

Simply set the theme to dark/light, and the icons will adapt to these two themes (the bottom line). If Rhino wants to go even further, select icon colors that are best suited to the remaining 3-4 themes.

Don’t listen to everyone; it’s not feasible mathematically in this case.

Addition: Custom Icons
Let’s make things arrogantly elegant. - ?

Method 1: Preferred

  1. Design icons in Rhino Modeling Space
  2. Copy To Icon Editor, similar to CopyToClipboard command

Method 2:

  1. Model directly within an icon editor environment, similar to Rhino Modeling environment, using fundamental tools like Curves, Snap, and primitive geometries.

Ref - Outdated methodology:

Combine components of the GH and Rhino icons, like the GH curve and the surface sections, because Rhino and GH have comparable features.
