Rhino8 DWG/DXF export Bug

Hey guys,

I think I’ve encounterd a bug for the DWG and DXF exporter in Rhino8.
Some objects will not export properly, creating empty dwg/dxf objects when attempting to export. What makes me think its a bug, is that when copying the related objects to rh7 they properly export. Its also reproducable.

Try to export the arrayed panels (not the two cubes in the middle, those work fine). On my end no matter how i try to export those they will end up as empty objects. Also happened when trying to use .fbx, so it might be more than just a dwg issue.

Any ideas why this could happen?

Hi Lorin -

I’m not sure what you mean by empty objects, but exporting seems to work fine here. Could you run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the result here?

I meant quite literally empty .dwg files with 0.0kb file size. i will provide the log later this week!

Sorry Wim,

I just noticed i didn’t specify that it was only happening when exporting geometery as Meshes. So surfaces, Polysurfaces and Meshes to Meshes in DWG. this is the crux of the problem. Again, excuse me for not specifying. I’m away from my Work computer as of right now, will get you the SystemInfo log you were asking for soon.
