Struggling to open anything in recent WiP

None of the files I created before today’s update will open. Everything crashes, also when trying to open dwg or dxf.
Anyone experiencing the same?

Same here on the Mac
[just post about it in the Mac WIP category]

I have disabled Connections at Plugins. Now Rhino won’t load at all, and I got this message
image

Hi Piotr -
Have you tried to repair the installation in the Windows Control Panel?
-wim

Repairing won’t help. Still got this:

Can you send me a link to previous version?
I have a few files that were created in V8 and i lost access to them.
Thanks

Hi Piotr -

Sure, it’d be interesting to see if that helps any - 8.0.22018.12305.

I’m not sure what that means.
Did you have any 3rd plug-ins?
-wim

i did it in Options panel/Plug-ins, there is a box to tick for connections
I have uninstalled V8 and installed again but it requires licence to run, which it can’t find (!?).
Now, neither V7 nor V8 won’t open. arrrrrghj

Do you get some message or such when launching Rhino 7?
-wim

WTF? It’s like welcome but No.

Piotr -
If you are using a license in the PART team, it looks like all 9 seats are currently in use.
Apart from that, do you get any further when you click the Logout button there?
-wim

I’ve contacted our team administrator and he is working on it by adding new seat. Hopefully the problem disappears soon.
BTW: I’m glad so many people are using Rhino in my company and the number is growing.

Reversing to older version didn’t help. Still got this message.

Good news: I have managed to make WiP working by entering the Safe Mode and ticking the Connections box on.
Bad news: it still crashes on a file I used to open with no problem.

Can you post or upload that file?
-wim

Ask Nathan. I’ve sent him it yesterday, but he claims he has no problem opening it.

I think it has nothing to do with a file itself. It crashes on opening of any file, dwg included.
Edit: I opened this file in a Safe Mode. There is something blocking WiP from running normally.

RhinoCrashDump.3dm (10.9 MB)

I’m moving more recent posts from a “Rhino for Mac” thread into this thread…

I looked at one of the reports you sent in and it is hard to tell what the cause is. It looks like it may be related to your display driver, but I’m not 100% confident about that. I would check to see if any GPU driver updates are available and also disable any 3rd party plug-ins for a while to see if that makes a difference.

Having to run in safe mode does hint that this is either a GPU driver issue of a plug-in issue.

Hi Steve
My drivers are up to date.
I made a factory reset and disabled any graphic extension.
WiP still crashing while V7 is working fine.
Where and what is the difference between them?
