See this is one of the reasons I like Rhino I don’t have to go through the endless money sink holes, I don’t even pay rent that high for roof over my head.
I own the tool I can put it on the shelf for years and come back and use it the same as i left it
Solidworks add in for subd xshape is another great potential but nope not learning that unless the company I work for will have it I won’t even bother learning
Vanilla basic is all I’m sticking to no wonder I get the feedback sometimes that “you got greater surface skills than engineers I know” is because they never get the chance to develop good skills to begin with, with those prices it discourages getting them
One must be able to explore and experiment and always have the tool available without limitations
To be fair…. it’s not that it cost a lot it’s that your wallet can’t afford it….. . Alias has over a 30 year history of having some of the best Class A modeling around. It’s not a toy but it’s also not for every company. If making shampoo bottles or tractors then Rhino or Solidworks is enough.
While you don’t have to upgrade Rhino, it is still $300 - $500 to do so.
Also there’s no need to get xShape when you already have Rhino with SubD modeling in it. Also xShape is not inside of Solidwoks, it’s a separate app and they don’t talk to each other. If anything, if looking for SubD modeling inside of Solidworks then take a look at Power Surfacing or Quick Surface.
well yeah this is my situation my wallet is not thick i am a student now but imagine the engineering student that graduates with limited funds takes time to earn some bank you know I personally would not buy this afterwards
And also I’m a cheap b****** so…does not help my situation
My point It’s not possible to be good with only academia studies one must take it beyond because the process of learning cad never stops
eat, bleed, internal screaming, breathe, look up and yell at God, and sleep cad.
I don’t know where I’m going with this, I just like to own my stuff.
I’ll just stop posting silly things and go watch those videos…
