Phillip -
As you probably already know it is our intention to get the Mac version to catch up t the Windows version. We are not sure how long that will take, but the V6 product has been written to make this process easier.
The best you can do is watch the Mac threads here: https://discourse.mcneel.com/c/rhino-for-mac
Once something starts working we will get a testing program working.
Definitely not tomorrow, but Mac WIP 6 is a top priority for development. There are still a number of technical glitches that need to be fixed before we can ship a first WIP.

good good good…
I have to say that I have been impressed with how much you have been able to do and the quality of your V1.0 product.
Definitely not tomorrow, but Mac WIP 6 is a top priority for development. There are still a number of technical glitches that need to be fixed before we can ship a first WIP.
So is there any news on this? A possible ETA for the Rhino6 WIP for Mac?
Not really. We’re still working on it and the internal builds are starting to work better. The list of critical bugs that must be fixed before releasing a WIP has gotten very small, but I’m not exactly sure how long they will take to complete.
Ok, thanks for the fast reply! I hope you can get it out soon, though!
I’ve heard Apple’s macOS will eventually drop OpenGL support to be replaced by their Metal graphics framework. If this is true, will Rhino 6 for Mac be developed to accommodate this change?
We chatted with Apple about this. Our current plan is to develop a metal display architecture in V7.
Apple will support OpenGL for quite a number of years. There are a lot of products for Mac based on OpenGL and we are being given a long time to switch over to Metal
Hi Scott,
are there any recent updates to suggest a possible release date for Rhino V6 for mac? Also, we use KeyShot for our renders, do you know if it will be compatible with RV6?
Thanks in advanced!

Hi James-
No, we don’t know when Rhino 6 for Mac will be released. That said, we’d love your help testing and reporting bugs on our Work-In-Progress (WIP) version.
I can’t speak for Keyshot, but given what we’ve seen of past versions of Keyshot, they are quick to support new version of Rhino (in general).

Hi Dan,
thanks for the info and sorry for the later reply.
Sure I would love to help out, is that a beta version?
/james
The WIP (Work-In-Progress) is like a beta, but a much longer running beta. I you purchased Rhino for Mac, you have access to the WIP for the next version. The development is going on over in the Serengeti:Mac category.
