Rhino Upgrade Issue - I already own a license

So I bought a license in 2021 for Rhino 6. I never bothered to upgrade until my class required me to update my software. I used the same license key that I received when I first bought the software back in 2021. The license key was for Rhino 6. Now that I have decided to upgrade to Rhino 8. My license for rhino 6 doesn’t work on rhino 8.

I have been having trouble upgrading my license to Rhino 8. Someone told me, I was supposed to receive an email with a license key for Rhino 8 but I never received anything. What should I do? By a new license to operate Rhino 8 on my Windows laptop. I only received one license key when I bought a student license for $200 dollars from the Rhino website

What should I do to solve my issue?

Did you buy Rhino 8? Where did you buy it from?

Ask whomever you bought it from.

I bought the software from the original website Rhino. I didn’t buy the license from an outside buyer.

If you bought your license from https://www.rhino3d.com you should be able to login and see your license information.

If the “buy” you are talking about is the Rhino V6 license, what you are experiencing is normal. A Rhino 6 license does not run Rhino 8 and there is no automatic free upgrade.

Who told you that?

Most likely you will need to buy a V8 educational upgrade, they are $95 (plus local taxes if any). Your paid V6 license is valid for the upgrade. If you have already bought the V8 upgrade, contact whomever you bought it from.

You can also try Rhino 8 for 90 days once.
