Rhino update broken

Rhino won’t update when I close it, have tried many times. Now my confidence in using the manual download file is much reduced.
This follows a morning of random crashes related to cycles, no dump reports created.

It might be time for me to go back to just latest stable service release, something is broken in this RC.

OK I ran the manual update to 13001, but raytraced cycles shader keeps crashing it. Got one crash dump so far, but then none since. I guess I’ll try a GPU update next as I can’t currently work in Rhino.
I’m gonna do a few tests first, the problem seems related to lights in the scene possibly, though I’m not using anything heavy duty, it’s a very basic interior design visualizations setup. Some point lights, some spots and GI.

updated to latest nvidia driver (552.22) maybe did the trick. no crashes so far.

Just crashed again when switching to raytraced. No crash dump, just closed.

It would be useful if you could share the file with me for investigation: rhino3d.com/upload?to=nathan@mcneel.com

@carvecream actually, I don’t think I need the file. This is a crash in Rhino itself before stuff gets to Raytraced. I believe this is already fixed in an internal build (8.8)
