I have used the rail revolve command on a simple set of profiles. The curves being smooth and fluid on the profile are then translated to a rigid/step-like surface when the command is complete and the surface is built. I need this to be a smooth surface like the curve. I’m not sure why it’s doing this, any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.
Hi that’s just the render mesh, nothing is actually “wrong.”
Hi Jim,
Thanks very much for your reply!
I thought something similar to that but rendering it out in Keyshot, I’m seeing that step-like surface again. Any ideas of how to fix please?

Well it is still just the render mesh, that’s what’s rendering. If you adjust the mesh settings you can reduce that.
yep in keyshot is the best import 3dm model with nurbs topology (only pro version)
- Import NURBS Data (Pro) - This option will bring in NURBS geometry that ensures no faceting on the model for completely smooth curves. “”
or mesh model with higher mesh density.
Or you can use plugin into rhino for keyshot
For me is the best create 3dm model with layers and smooth mesh settings and save in v6 (v7 not working yet) and import in keyshot. Very easy.
Good luck.
Perfect!
You both are fine gentleman - thanks for your help.
