Rhino Runs very slow, even for a smaller file

My Rhino file is running extremely slow and I am a bit confused as to why because I have dealt with much bigger files (both in Rhino and other programs) and I believe my computer specifications definitely good enough to handle what I am doing. The file size is 29,000KB and system info attached below. Unfortunately the file I am working with is confidential so I cannot share it but was wondering if anyone had something similar happen and can help.

Specifically my file includes curvy objects created by sweep2D (although there is only about 6 of them) and about 5 image files. The file got slower once I finished all the sweep2D shapes. When I say slow, I mean the file opening takes at least 5 min, (usually it is a couple seconds max) and when switching between shaded and rendering it also takes at least 4 min. I have tried copy and pasting into different files, as well as purging unused content. OpenGL GPU slider is on highest slider.

Lets get you on the latest Rhino. Everything else looks ok.

Are there networked resources? (textures, vray materials?)

If updating does resolve and everything is local we will need more info. Can you upload privately to Mcneel?

Hello, Just updated to the latest Rhino 8 ( is 8.14 correct?) but still similar issues. No Vray materials and there is about 3 textures.

If there is something else I could try, please let me know. Unfortunately I cannot share my file at all :frowning: so if it is difficult to access the problem I will try to just find a way internally. Thank you!

Found a fix! I just removed all textures and now it works as usual! Thank you for bringing the networked textures to my attention I think moving my files around too much might have caused the slow down

Part of the question was if you have materials on a network drive, google drive or similar.
