As the title says…

logged RH-73898 Rhino looses focus when dragging out a toolbar

The bug is different now.
The focus is lost on dragging out the first toolbar.

See:

Still the same!

pls send your systeminfo, as I can no longer reproduce this issue. I tried on both win 11 and win 10

It happens only for the FIRST toolbar to float.
Doesn’t happen if the is one more floating toolbars.

I tried to see if it had to do with localization, because I see no suspicious things in your info, but still cannot reproduce the issue you are seeing. I’ll ask if anyone else is seeing this here.

I thought it could have to do with the mouse auto positioning in the Windows settings:
image
I always use this setting.

But no, that’s not it.

The issue is still present in here.

hi Charles, I cannot reproduce the issue you are seeing anymore. This makes it hard to solve. @JohnM do you have a clue what could be causing this?

Strange.
I can repeat it very reliable in here.
Perhaps you can try once again to get the same effect?`
Hint:
The Notepad in the background had the focus before starting Rhino.

@Charles sorry, I still cannot reproduce that behavior here. Rhino stays in focus no matter what I try.

Strange.
I now have V8 beta on a PC with V5-7.
The WIP/beta was never installed before on that PC (Win10).

Same effect.

Means it’s not related to the Win11 machine for work.

@Charles Does losing focus happen if you have no other programs/apps such as Task Manager or Notepad open? I am just guessing about a reason that you see the problem and others do not.

I always have multiple windows open.
Now I tried with just Rhino and no other visible window.
Then the problem is not visible.

It’s not easy to be sure.
I did the test on Win10, and even in Dark Mode the Rhino titlebar is always white.
Having focus or not.

The Windows setting on this machine is titlebar color = blue.
All other apps respect the setting.

@Charles today I managed to reproduce this. Apparently there is a difference when cascading from the button or from the triangle.
RH-78099 Rhino 8 looses focus when dragging out a cascaded toolbar

Glad you could reproduce it.
I was not aware of the small difference.

Thank you

RH-78099 is fixed in Rhino 8 Service Release 3 Release Candidate
