RHINO INSIDE REVIT -Multipile Meshes Loading as a Familes

When I try to load meshes as families at a time it shows on my Revit as a red transparent color after releasing the element the families are there under a generic model but inside that family is empty
multiple Mesh families.gh (9.2 KB)

Hi Muhammed,

You’ve got an empty item here, and these should be grafted to be individual families.

You will also want to graft your trees to get individual families.

Since you named the Layer the Family Name you can get the Geometry Attributes instead of having a list to graft against the geometry using Rhino 8 or a plugin.

re_multiple Mesh families.gh (15.0 KB)

Hard to say with from the images, what is the output from the Add Component Location?

When asking questions always put the version of Revit and Rhino you are using. Thanks

The families are being created and placed. You should be able to verify by going to manage and select by the Element ID

Note that Rhino.Inside.Revit Elements will be pinned (for element tracking)

I just ran it again with no issues.

There are a number of possibilities why you can’t see your geometry.

Just curious, what visual style is this?

Hi Muhammed,

You can control materials of those Elements via the Object Styles (Subcategories)

Hi Muhammed,

You’ll want to add in a subcategory for each family then assign the material manually in the Project. (this is a property of the subcategory, not a parameter)

Good Day Muhammed,

In this situation the controlling the materials through the Project Subcategories looks to be optimal.

The confusion that might be coming in is that once you create a material / subcategory in a Family and push it into a Project you need to control it from the Project. Any changes to the Family Material/Subcategory are not going to propagate to the Project.

You can see here that a SubCategory created in the Family and Pushed to the Project has a different Element ID.
