Rhino freezes when doing a complex "Intersect"

I’ve been experiencing this issue for quite some time now, but this is the first time i’ve gotten around to logging it.

Sometimes when doing Boolean operations on complex shapes, if i get a “boolean failed” error, i’ll sometimes do an “Intersect” command to try and spot where the two objects aren’t meeting as they should. Quite often, i find that this will result in Rhino “freezing”. It doesn’t crash, it just becomes unresponsive, and the only way to get it working again is to force-quit.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Are there many or very complex surfaces involved? Very dense surfaces can take a long time - can you post a wire-frame screen grab of the objects?

Hi all,

I’m also experiencing this with the latest release. Usually happens when I’m trying to intersect fairly complex parts with simple surfaces. I’ve left this thing running for a long time, but nothing. Then I have to force- quit.
Other times (with the exact same intersection and objects), it will work fine in one second.

Cheers,
Anthony
