Rhino Freezes when Creating New material

Hello there!

Rhino 7 freezes when I try to create a material and choose either of the two options

“Import from Material Library…”
or
“Create Physically Based material from texture files…”

anyone know what the issue is?

Hi -

There are a few things to try here:

I would start by updating the drivers of the GTX card. Open the Rhino Notifications panel and you should see links to the download sites (also for the UHD Graphics on-board CPU).

What happens when you disconnect all of this?

Disable those plug-ins in the plug-ins manager and restart Rhino - does that make a difference?

Wim,

Thanks for the response.

I have updated all drivers, disconnected secondary graphic devices, and disabled the plugins.

Now instead of freezing I receive a notification from rhino saying that it needs to close.

See attached for the new systems info.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi -

Could you post the exact text of that notification or a screenshot of the dialog box?

Also, does this happen when you start a new file from a factory-default template and then immediately try Import from material Library... or Create Physically Base material from texture files...?
