Rhino display and layout problem

Hello,

  • In my work file, when I use the “Technique” display mode, either the blocks (doors and windows and others) are not displayed (image 1*), or all the walls are white… the last time I used Rhino, checking “shadows” in the properties allowed me to see the textures (Image 2 and 3*) → to see the textures, I have to set the shadows to 50%.
Today, the doors and windows are displayed, but all the walls are white and even when displaying the shadows, no textures appear (image 7*).

  • I would like my 2D layout to look like my section in 3D directly. Is this possible? (image 4*)

  • With the “CutDrawing” tool, how is it possible to erase the dynamic drawing without erasing the section slice?

  • Is it possible, if my dimensions are all on different planes, to relace it on a single plane at once (image 5*)? I was told about the “_setpt” command but it doesn’t work.

  • Is it possible to make dimensions in a linked chain or not for the moment? When I make a chain of dimensions, when I select the chain, I only select one dimension. Otherwise, to implement in a future update? This function would be really practical

I note a problem concerning the putting forward and back of objects with the “organize” tool. in 2D/3D it doesn’t work at all. Either the object in 2D is always visible, or not at all. but I can’t manage this order well. tricky for layouts (image 6*).

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Best regards,

Hi Darius -

Please post a simple 3dm file that we can check and troubleshoot. It’s impossible to know what’s going on from a few images.

There’s a lot going on in those images and I can’t tell what you are looking at that is different. If you could export a single or a few objects that are misbehaving, that would help a lot.

What is the “CutDrawing” tool?

The points of dimensions are forced to be on a plane and the SetPt command can’t move those points out-of-plane. The trick here is to perform the SetPt command on the dimension objects - i.e. without turning on their points.

Could you explain which problem this would solve?

Draw order commands do not work on surfaces, meshes, or SubD objects.

thanks for your feedback. Regarding the “cutdrawing” it was a translation error, I was talking about “section”.

here is the project : https://we.tl/t-OM7Xj4AESP

Great, now I won’t have any more problems aligning selected objects on the same plane

At least I understood why the display order management didn’t work. Too bad, it would be interesting to improve it in a future version

For the dimensions, I wanted to know if it was possible to make linked dimensions. a bit like software such as “vectorworks” or “archicad”, etc. it is practical for selecting dimensions and moving them at once.

As I try to use the 3D model directly as a reference for the presentation of my project, I try to avoid making “sections” and having the drawings on the side. However, if I want to change methods, some things are not displayed if I try to make a section.

thanks
