Especially since the last Rhino update I have been having big problems with Rhino for Mac. But even before that, my Rhino was very unstable.
What are the problems?
Rhino crashes when I open larger files (70MB-300MB)
Rhino uses 100%+ of the CPU according to the activity monitor (I’ll attache the latest spindump file.)
I also often had the known problem that Rhino crashes as soon as I open the material container
containers and window settings disappear regularly: When changing to a saved window arrangement, sometimes all containers are hidden. This is very annoying
My main problem, however, is that I cannot open the file
What have I already done?
Reinstalled Rhino completely
Render settings → CPU instead of GPU rendering
Importing files into a clean new file → crashes (its not only one file; I tested more files)
in a new file the above mentioned problems also occur (3. & 4.)
My setup:
Macbook M3 Max, 36GB, 2TB SDD, OS Sequoia 15.3.1 (24D70)
Rhino version 8 (8.16.25042.13002)
(By the way: do you recommend another Mac setup so that Rhino Mac runs fast & stable with bigger files?)
