Rhino 8 toolbar handling changes

Hello,

Sorry, maybe this is well documented, but somehow I can not find the proper information.

Could you please help me to understand the changes about toolbars in Rhino 8 compared to Rhino 7?
I mean how should the plugin handle the .rui files or are those obsolete now? I am a bit lost…

In Rhino 7 we had the option in Tools menu > Toolbar Layout where it was easy to edit the toolbars, menus etc. In Rhino 8 we don’t have similar tool right? (Only editing the rui files by hand?)

And also in Rhino7 if I rearranged toolbar buttons, or other changes were made on the toolbars, the modified toolbar was saved into the …/7.0/UI/Plug-ins folder. But it seems if I change something in Rhino 8 it doesn’t create a new .rui file.

So maybe the .rui files are obsolete but still Rhino loads the .rui file saved from 7.0 into 8.0 quite well. Not perfectly because for example our custom menu is duplicated…

I still see the old information, but there has to be somewhere an updated info I missed probably.

Some info on the new UI system.

We’re still working on API’s into this so developers can do what they need.
