Plugins Rhino8

Hi,
I’m looking at some behaviour in Rhino8 that is different to Rhino7 (and I don’t recall in the beta).
First is the plugin automatically updating. Is there a way for a user to nominate that they don’t want a plugin to automatically update? I can’t see anyway to configure this from my research.
Second, I see duplication of toolbars after updates. I can only see one relevant .rui C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\8.0\UI\Plug-ins
How do I tell from Rhino UI where a toolbar is loaded from in Rhino8?
Thanks,

Jon

The UI no longer shows source for .rui files (that I can see).
How do I detect where the multiple menus/toolbars are sourced from?

Is there any change in Rhino8 with deploying .rui files?

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,
If you don’t want your plug-in to auto-migrate from 7 to 8, send me an email and we’ll figure out a solution.

This isn’t auto migration. I’m building and publishing to Yak Rhino8 plugins.
But it seems rhino automatically upgrades when the next build is published (which I know some of my users would require to opt out of this) and when it upgrades, often RUI is duplicated.

I’ll email you on the topic.

Thanks,

Jon

Ok; this is really for @will then.

As far as the duplicated rui entries, we’ll need to figure out how to duplicate this. We’ve been pretty focused on RUI related bugs in Rhino 8 these last few weeks and this would be another one we should figure out right away. @brian can you help figure out how to replicate this bug?

Thanks and hope you’re doing well Jon.
