Rhino 8 - shadows visible behind Grasshopper geometry

Hi,
I searched the forum but did not find any solution or info about this problem. In Rendered view, Rhino shadows are drawn in front of Grasshopper geometry (with Default Material applied through Custom Preview). When I turn off Rhino shadows (in Display Options), the geometry is opaque. When I turn on shadows, the Grasshopper geometry looks weirdly transparent, but it’s only the shadows behind it that are visible.
Is this a bug or did I miss some display setting in Rhino or in Grasshopper?

See attached photos with shadows turned off and on.

No ideas? I still haven’t found any solution to this problem.

Please run the Rhino command _SystemInfo and post the result in a reply.

Thank you, see system info below.

Lets start by having your GPU driver updated to the latest. At the moment of writing that would be NVIDIA Studio Driver | 551.61 | Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11 | NVIDIA

Choose to do a custom/advanced install and check the clean installation checkbox before continuing.

Also, Rhino 8.5 is released now, it would be good to update to that after you’ve handled your GPU driver.

Let me know if that helped.

Thank you Nathan, updating both the GPU driver to 551.61 and Rhino to 8.5 did indeed solve the problem. Now it works as expected.
