Hello,
I’m once again encountering strange VA behaviour, this time I think I know where it comes from (but I don’t know how to solve it). So, I’m working on a 2D sketch with Rhino 8 (no plugins), then (for various reasons) I want to prepare a model in Rhino 6 / VA 2. And I can’t, the R8 file saved as R6 doesn’t allow any VA operations. See the picture, all VA options are disabled:
Hi @jerry.bakowski VisualARQ 3 models don’t open in VisualARQ 2, eventhough you can save Rhino 8 models as Rhino 7 or Rhino 6 format. Are you sure the file saved in R6 from R8 has no plug-in data? can you share that file?
Francesc,
It is a plain Rhino 8 document, without any Visual elements. Just some curves, hatches and annotations. And I saved it as a Rhino 6 document, then opened with Rhino 6, and then I tried to add something from VA. The result is on the picture above.
I can send you files, if you want them.
Cheers, Jaro
There must be some remainings of VisualARQ data in the file you save as a R6 file. Unchecking the “save plug-in” data option prevents this issue from happening. And also if you run the vaPurge command before saving the file, no matter if you save plug-in data or not.
